About Newpearl Strategy

Newpearl Strategy is a geopolitical strategic consultancy, specialising in media relations, public affairs campaigning, political risk analysis, crisis communications and reputation management.

Newpearl Strategy was launched in September 2020. We work with global corporations, governments, think-tanks, law firms, advocacy organisations and NGOs. We are looking to grow the team as we expand our international client portfolio.

Experience and skills

Newpearl Strategy is seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic self-starter, with a passion for geopolitics and media. You will be curious about the world of politics, economics, current affairs and finance and will be looking for a role that can bring your research and writing skills to the fore.

A competitive candidate will have some experience in advocacy campaigns and be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of global politics and issues. Any previous journalistic experience is welcomed.

Responsibilities

You are joining a small team so you will need to be flexible and eager to pitch in. Your main responsibilities will include:

-       Organising webinars and events by sourcing speakers and preparing speaking points

-       Conducting background briefs on a range of topics and regions

-       Drafting op-eds and other media content

-       Maintaining media lists and database

-       Preparing daily press clips

-       Organising and taking minutes of meetings

-       Helping with project management

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

-       Driven and passionate about global politics and world affairs

-       A strong writer with great research skills

-       Organised and detail-oriented while keeping an eye on the bigger picture

-       Entrepreneurial and agile (essential skills for any media or public affairs campaign)

-       Willing to learn and to be challenged

-       Tech-savvy and a social media user

-       A “news junkie” who wants to get paid for reading the papers!

No formal qualifications are needed but a background in international relations, campaigning or journalism is desirable.

English language fluency is a requirement. Additional language skills (particularly French, Spanish, Portuguese, Hebrew or Arabic) are desirable but not required.

Further details

The successful candidate will be paid the London Living Wage of £10.85 per hour, with a full-time commitment required.

The initial internship will be for three months, with an extension or a permanent position possible dependent on performance.

The candidate must have the right to work in the United Kingdom. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time.
